Get Paid for Your Garbage

You pay to have your garbage taken away every week.
You pay to have your recycling picked up.
You pay to drop off large items at the dump.

It can really add up.  So stop it.  Stop paying to have people take your junk away.

Did you know there are people out there who will pay you for your junk.?  It's true.  Instead of paying to get rid of it, you can get paid for it!  Or worst case scenario, they haul it away for free with no money exchanged at all.  Good deal, right?

If your city charges to pick up your recyclables (and many cities do), don't do it.  Take it yourself to be recycled and get paid for it!  This is a great project that your kids could do to earn a little extra money for themselves.

Do you have old appliances taking up space in your garage?  Don't pay to drop them at the dump.  First, call a used appliance store and see if they buy (or at least haul away) broken appliances.  If that doesn't work, try craigslist.  You can list your appliances as broken and people will still want them.  Someone who is looking for spare parts or is good at fixing things will happily pay to take your broken one away.  You could also look for a metal recycling center.  If you can haul the item there yourself, they will pay you for the metal in your broken old appliances.  If hauling it yourself isn't an option, look for local places that collect scrap metal or used appliances.  There is always somebody willing to take these types of things off your hands.

One man's trash is another man's treasure.  Stop paying people to throw away a possible treasure.

These broken machines have been in my garage for almost a year. I made one phone call and they were gone that afternoon!
