Weekly Victory: Relief Society Lesson!

Sometimes our "victories" can be really tangible, as in Marcia's example last week of getting in there and building her sons a new floor.  My Victory this week is a little less so, but just as rewarding.

When we began this blog, our vision was simple: share what we know about thriftiness with others.  We definitely know that we aren't by any means "experts" in this field, nor are our ideas necessarily original.  But we also know that we do have a lot of experience to share, and really wanted to find a way to spread it around.

This past week, I had a great opportunity to do just that, only in person!  My Relief Society (local women's group as part of my church organization) had an activity all about Living Providently - finding ways to be healthier, more thrifty, and to use our resources more responsibly.  And they asked me to teach a class on "Thrifty Living"!

It was a short, 30 minute class, so I chose just a few areas to focus on.  Grocery shopping, easy ways to avoid eating out, and a few general tips on overall thriftiness when it comes to acquiring all that "stuff" that our families seem to need more of on a daily basis.  I think it went really well!  I hope I helped at least a few women to look at their shopping habits a little differently, and that their budgets will be better off for it.

Hooray for sharing thrifty ideas!
