101 Ways to Reuse Your Empty Laundry Soap Bucket (okay, only 30)

So you bought your laundry detergent in one of those huge plastic buckets, right?  Good for you, it's usually cheaper that way!  But now that you've finished the last 290 loads of laundry, and the bucket is empty, what do you do with it?  It just seems too big and useful to throw away, right?

Well, you could:

Drill holes in the bottom for drainage and make a flower pot.

Fill it full of books and toys, for a quick, on-the-go activity bag.

Turn it upside down and use it as a step stool - or fill it with something heavy to make it even sturdier.

Keep it next to your couch full of your knitting/craft project - your husband will thank you.

Fill it with emergency supplies and store it in the trunk of your car for a 72 hour kit.

Recycling bins!- one for cardboard, one for glass, one for plastic.

Pre-soak stained laundry in it - be super careful not to leave it where your small children can fall into it if it's filled with water!!

Fill it with soapy water and wash your car - be sure to dump it out when you're done and keep your kids safe!

Mod-podge the outside and cover with cute scrapbook or wrapping paper.

Cleaning supplies - keep all those spray bottles in one spot.  Store it under the sink, then carry it around the house with you when you clean.

Fishing equipment - I don't really know what "fishing equipment" is, but you could put it in a bucket!

Sports equipment - one for each sport?

Diapering station - diapers, wipes, creams, maybe a spare outfit or two.

Put under a leak in your roof - well, at least until you fix that leak...

Store wrapping paper rolls - they'll stand up so neatly, and your closet won't be a mess anymore!

Refill with laundry detergent that comes in a flimsy container - I hate those cardboard boxes!

Fill with water and rinse sandy/dirty feet and keep your house a little cleaner in the summer.

Tool bucket - you can even buy one of those "apron" things to organize it.

Keep your shell/rock/dirt collection in it - or any collection... okay, maybe not stamps.

Under the sink trash can - it's the perfect size to fit!

Keep Ice-Melt in it in the winter - keep the lid on so your little kids don't get into it!!

Toys that have a million pieces - save your feet, keep those Legos off the floor!

Sand toys - keep the sand in the bucket and out of your car.

Hanging garden - that handle comes in handy.

Book bucket - one for library books, or one in each kids' bedroom.

Keep in your trunk, fill with car supplies: jumper cables, jack, flares, etc.

Car trash can - is mine the only van that always seems to be full of garbage?

And last but not least:

NOT food storage - you need a clean, new bucket for that.
