I was talking casually to a mom the other day, and she was telling me about her toddler's defiant behavior.  I offhandedly said, "When my kids are being naughty, I just pick up the phone and pretend to call Santa."

She came to me the next day and told me that she had tried the Santa technique with her daughter, and her daughter had grabbed the phone out of her hand and threw it in the toilet.
